Did you hear them?

Tonight we had a quick, but LOUD storm go through the Twin Cities. The Girls I live with (who have special needs) where a bit scared, especially Jenny. After one particular loud and boisterous thunder clap she was shaking and covering her ears about to cry. So what do I say to her?

I say: "Don't worry girls it's just vampires playing baseball!"
jenny: (looks at me horrified)
ellen says: "Now why did you say something like that?"

10 enjoyed the bouquet.:

ROFL!! Jill's over and we're laughing super loud. Love it!

This is the BEST thing I have heard all day. Mostly because I know these girls and I can picture this scene in my head. (but sad that I thought nothing of vampires when the thunder rolled. shame on me.)

Too funny!

Oh, HILARIOUS. I love it.

I wish I would have thought it was the Cullens playing. My mind needs to get back into Twilight mode.

Should I be worried that it left Twilight mode? Do we need an intervention? ;)

Oh, it was never far...just fried from last-day-of-school shenanigans. Although, I did a LOT of jumping up and down and squealing today with my 8th grade (girl) students about the fact that Breaking Dawn comes out IN LESS THAN TWO MONTHS and debating what we thought about the chess-related cover. (Two brought up interesting points: what if Bella is neither the queen nor the pawn, but the Volturi against humanity? Or what if the queen isn't after the pawn, but is PROTECTING it? Hmmm...pretty good for eighth graders. Just not sure I buy into either.)

"School's out...for...summer!" I have seen Alice Cooper sing that live. ;-) (And his name is ALICE!)

Ok, you had me scared for a moment.

I like your students' ideas -- very creative. I can't wait to read the book to find out the truth. Although we'll probably still debate it after reading too.

Tehe! I thought of telling my daughters that too! But I thought that might make it worse so I went with the standard of the Angels are Bowling routine! Maybe when they are older and have read the books we can say that HAHA!

Congrats on being done with School Erin! I remember those days!! (before being a S.H.M. I was a elementary PE teacher!)

Later on in the evening, Ellen had me come into her room so she could "correct" me. She showed me her book on Norweigen Gods and made me read a highlighted paragraph about Thor the God of Thunder. She was very concerned that I thought it was vampires, and wanted to set me straight.

lol. Yeah, during the most recent thunderstorm, I told my little brother to take his pick of whether it was vampires playing baseball or angels bowling, and he gave me the weirdest look.

And, Jes, that is hilarious!
