Question of the Day

Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series presupposes that there is a world filled with supernatural beings--namely vampires and werewolves. Do you think that this world might also have other supernatural entities (or should have them) but that we just don't know about them yet or they exist outside of Forks? For example, there could be fairies, elves, ogres, ghosts, zombies, witches, wizards, etc. If you do think that they are (or should be) a part of the story, do you think any of the characters in the story are one of these mystical creatures in disguise?

"Um... Alison," you say. "This question makes no sense. Can I read an example of an answer?"

Certainly.

(This isn't my real answer, its an example). I loooooves me some sci-fi, and think that there should be tooons of crazy creatures in SM's world. I have always heard Fairies are nasty little creatures that love to cause mischief, hence, I think Lauren is a fairy in disguise.

7 enjoyed the bouquet.:

Wow, impressive question.

I think I am more interested in humans with extraordinary abilities (ie mutants, like the X-Men). So I would really like to see someone with, I don't know, really rad mind powers, like Jane. But of course this person would be human.

As far as anyone being in disguise, I hadn't really thought of that. Lauren and Jessica could for sure be faeries, or some type of nymph.

Maybe the big fight scene in BD (I am just assuming there will be one, this is pure speculation) will have some other creatures we haven't been introduced to. In a world with vamps and wolves, there HAS to be other creatures, like zombies. But preferrably the funny kind, like in Shaun of the Dead.

Prior to Twilight, I never read much (any) scifi/fantasy, so I'm kind of out of my realm here. But after reading COB/COA, I think it would kick ass if Charlie turned out to be the High Warlock of Forks or something. AND it would explain Bella's confounding mind! ;-)

Good question. Hmmm.

I think Stephenie Meyer may have made a comment that there aren't any other mythical creatures in the books besides vampires & werewolves, but let's just pretend, shall we? Because I love this question!

I think Angela is some sort of supernatural being. Jessica is a faerie ...although I'm pretty sure she can still lie.

Erin -- I love your Charlie idea.

Ryah -- ZOMBIES!! I'm hiding.

Maybe, now that Jacob has run off to the north, he'll meet another tribe? Eskimos phasing into Polar Bears? Cute! I want one as my friend!

I'd love more Mythical creatures! I love Fairies (although not nasty ones! hehe!) It'd totally be cool if there were witches and warlocks and stuff! (althought SM might stay away from that cuz it cuts too close to the HP series!)

Would make for some VERY interesting goings on though!!

Funny, I was thinking of this question the other day.

I don't think there are any other supernatural beings in SM's world. I am not sure if I want any more. I kind of feel special that I know the Cullens and their history of the vampire world/werewolf world. I don't want any other threats to my vampire world. So I'm voting no. Don't want any.

(though, I love the supernatural world in COB/COA and harry potter.)

Love this question!

After reading the question my mind went straight to Charlie and Renee. I have commented before that I think there is so much more to their story that we don't know about. I think in an alternate-alternate SM world, some witch or something put a hex or spell on charlie and Renee- hence her sudden "up-and -leave"- because Charlie had put a loved one in jail for life. So this witch then hexed Charlie's marrige in retaliation, so that anytime Renee and charlie touched, Baby Bella would go into seizures. Hence, when Bella came back to forks there is still a bit of the hex around and thus, her mind is locked up and weird.
(that's where my thoughts went! I don't know!)
