SVC: Year in Review

I'm totally copying SM's brother/webmaster Seth's post about her successful year. See http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/for his post.

However, I wanted to focus this post on the serendipitous development of the SVC. On April 13, 2008 (I know because I saved the Facebook message between Alison and me), I got to know some of the best lady-husbands and friends I could ask for when the SVC was formed! And what a glorious day it was.

As 2008 comes to a close, I'd like to name just a few of the SVC's major accomplishments:

  • a website, tshirts, logos and playlists...not to mention totally awesome RPattz fridge magnets
  • several awesome karaoke appearances, including "Hitch Me Baby (One More Time)" and "La...Push It!"
  • meeting SM herself at the Mall of America signing of The Host
  • the Borders midnight release event for Breaking Dawn
  • new vampire lairs (new states, houses AND the Front with DJ Dirty Duke)
  • some baby vampires on the way (our own Renesmees! Awww!)
  • a crazy-fun and giggly midnight movie premiere of Twilight
  • several other awesome fantasy books, especially City of Bones and City of Ashes
  • innumerable photos with SVC fangs, especially at karaoke, dancing, and NKOTB concerts
  • many, many new friends here at SVC!
What are your favorite memories of the year? Please share! I know I'm missing a bunch of things.

I am looking forward to reminiscing on New Year's Eve with the other coven leaders at my lair. I am so thankful for you ladies! Happy New Year!

16 enjoyed the bouquet.:

I can't pick any favorite memories, and I'm only going to say that seeing the Twilight movie for the first time with Grimm was probably right up near the top of the list.

you people are lucky you have something to do this year on New Years. So far I'm watching a marathon of G-rated movies on our new TV. joy.

I'm gonna make a point to come on here tomorrow, but if i don't have a chance...

HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!!!!!

My faves were definitely dancing w/ the SVC at the Front!
And also Jess's reaction to paging ahead and seeing "Nessie" in her newly purchased Breaking Dawn book.-classic!
Have a great New Years!

Aw! What a great post!

My favorite memory was finding this website!! I was a SUPER fanatic, and all of my friends stopped listening to me constantly talk about all things Twilight, so this blog allowed me to continue!! haha and not to mention all of yall are so nice and welcoming! I can't wait for next year :)

I'm still "new" around here.. but I check this blog almost daily now! Its become apart of my internet browsing ritual! haha

I have to agree with Maggie.. my favorite would have to be finding this awesome blog to keep up my Twilight obsession when the rest of my world had heard enough of it! haha And of course.. for y'all introducing me to the City of Bones, City of Ashes books :)

Happy New Year!!!!

I like Grimm and Z~Z ;)
Also I love being a pusher of books, so the site has been fun for that.

But really, without the SVC, the coven leaders might not all be friends. we all have each other in common, but were not a group of friends before SVC. So there ya go. Last year I had two friends, this year I Have five.

haha. once again i am the late one :)

my favorite memory... ok top five...

5.seeing that robert had cut his hair. even though i liked (ok that's kind of a stretch but it works) his hair before, it had always reminded me of a furry animal. this one is much better.

4. the twilight movie, and all the cheesiness that comes with it.

3. release of breaking dawn. i mean, i was not completely won over by this latest installment, but i did thoroughly enjoy it.

2. questions of the day. these definitely took up a hunk of my time this year. even though i usually didn't comment on them, it provided an annswer to the simple question, "why do i look at this website?" with the simple answer of "because it's amazing!"

1. finding this website. it's definitely the number one. even though i'll probably get brain cancer or something from constantly staring at the screen, i certainly got a lot out of it. :)

I have mostly appreciated a place to let out all of my Twilight craziness. And it being a great place for every side of each topic to be discussed.

I've enjoyed getting to know our coven better, but also have had fun with or faithful new and regular posters!

Happy New Year!

Wow! Talk about being the last one on board! hehe! There have been so many fun Twilight related things in 08! First being introduced to the book for my Birthday! Hence the obsession began! Then I met all you wonderful SVC'ers at MOA AND met S.M.! What a day! (also happened to be the first day my now 3 month old kicked hehe!)

Going to the B.D. party and READING B.D. (LOVED IT!!!!)

Having you SVCers intro me to COB and COA!

Love (and miss!) Questions of the day!

I could go on and on!! Thanks for letting all of us have an outlet Coven Leaders!!

P.S. How are our New Mommies doing? Have you guys had your babies yet?!

Heather - no vamp babies yet! Kari's due two weeks before I am (she's 38 weeks, I'm 36), so she'll probably go first, but things are pretty uncomfortable now, to say the least! :-)
