The Forest of Hands and Teeth!

By Carrie Ryan.

I have been a voracious little reader as of late, and maybe I will deign to share with you what I have been up to, but I just had to log in and share my current read with you, The Forest of Hands and Teeth. I am only on page 52 but I absolutely love it. It is beautifully written and absolutely compelling. The storyline is like if you take that M. Night movie (The Village? is that what it was called) except the village isn't a fake construct, but like the only village ever, and what lies beyond the village is zombies, or, "the Unconsecrated." I also think that perhaps people who liked Hunger Games would like this book, as its kind of an old-school world with different rules than our society. On the book jacket, you will find quotes from your favorite authors:

"A postapocalyptic romance of the first order, elagantly written from title to last line." --Scott Westerfeld (Extras, Peeps)

" Opening The Forest of Hands and Teeth is like cracking Pandora's box: a blur of darkness and a precious bit of hope pour out. This is a beautifully crafted, page-turning, powerful novel. I thoroughly enjoyed it." --Melissa Marr (Wicked Lovely)

"Intelligent, dark andbewitching, The Forest of Hands and Teeth transitions effortlessly between horror and beauty. Mary's world is one that readers will not soon forget." --Cassandra Clare (City of Bones)

"Dark and sexy and scary. Only one of the Unconsecrated could put this book down." --Justine Larbalestier (How to Ditch Your Fairy)
