Question of the Day

I just read that Leah Clearwater has been cut from the screenplay of New Moon!

What do you think? Do you think she will come into play in Eclipse? Is she important to you or not for the story?

I am abit surprised that I am dissapointed by this, I think her character would have added some much needed spunk!

15 enjoyed the bouquet.:

I think shes more important to Eclipse than New Moon. I don't like her, but think that she should stay in as the lone femme wolfie and source of contention.

i didn't realize that you don't like Leah! that surprises me!

Shes too emotional and obnoxious. A "loose cannon" if you will.

I guess- I guess i think she is one of the more realistic characters though- I can relate to how she is in her situation.

That's too bad...I like her...I think her story is a cool subplot.

She's not important to the Edward/Bella story which the movie makers will be focusing on (I think), but she plays an important role on the wolfie side of things. She brings conflict and drama, and being the lone girl wolf is pretty cool, I don't think they should cut her out.

Where'd you read it, Jes? This is for sure? It disappoints me. Leah is necessary to understand what Sam went through as the lone werewolf, I think, and understanding Sam is necessary to understand the pack mentality. But I suppose all that can wait until Eclipse...I forget what Bella learned about them in NM vs E...

I am unsure of me feeling towards Leah, but I don't think that I like hearing she is cut from the movie. I agree that the lone wolf girl is a good sub-plot (but not necessary to the story).

I read it in responce to Vanessa Hudgeons being cast as Leah- the screen writter said that she couldn't be up for the part because she hadn't written the part for the movie (via perez)

Wow... I wish they wouldn't have cut her. I think she's very important to understanding the pack mind and why it is so hard on them all. And she becomes more important in Eclipse, so I hope they at least put her in that one. I kind of like Leah...the lone girl wolf is kind of cool (even if she doesn't think so!) ;)

Ugg. They're ruining this one too!!!

Leah doesn't play a very important part in NM, but she does something that makes you wonder and making people wonder is what will save the ticket sales for Eclipse if they ruin this one too!!!

In case you don't know what the heck I'm talking about, I'm talking about when at the bonfire and Billy says that the werewolf gene is pasted down through male decendants. Bella procedes to glance at Leah and see that she's crying. You don't find out why until Eclipse, and you want to find out why.

I can see why she was cut from NM...she isn't a HUGE part of the plot in that one! However I hope they bring her in for EC! Depending on how NM goes...they may not get into all that! As they are going to focus on the the B&E aspect (Like Ryah stated!) However I did enjoy the aspect she brought to the pack and is the reason Jacob gets hurt in EC!

So I guess we'll see how everything plays out! regardless I'm looking forward to NM just to see how they make it not so depressing! I'm very excited to see what they do with the Volturi and Italy!!

I have this feeling A LOT of things will be cut from NM that we won't be expecting. I mean look at Twilight.. they cut SO much out of the story line!

I haven't read NM in awhile, how big of a role did Leah have in it?! I remember her character more in Eclipse (probably b/c that's my favorite of the 4 and I think I read it like 5 times! haha)

Her role in NM isn't that big, but it's mainly introducing her for future books. Leah becomes more involved in the storyline goes on, with joining Jake's pack and all. Most of her parts are in EC and BD, and as far as I know they're not making BD so they might not need her at all.

Which sucks cause the Clearwaters are my two favorite werewolves / shapeshifters.
