Is it just me??

Todays Twilight Tuesday over at MTV gave me deja vu...I've read the article and seen the video before on MTV - are they running out of material?

I dunno...

Little Ronald Weasley is starting to look as hot as Edward...

7 things...

Celebuzz has a short bit about Robert, here are 7 things you may or may not have known about out beloved:

1. Jack Nicholson is his acting inspiration.

2. He started playing the piano when he was three-years-old and still dreams of becoming a professional pianist. He has also mastered the guitar.

3. His sisters used to dress him up as a girl and call him "Claudia."

4. His favorite curse word is tike, an offensive British term which refers to a "crude, ill-bred person who lacks culture or refinement."

5.He loves American Idol.

6. He hates when women wear UGGs (so if you want to be the next Mrs. Pattinson, it's recommended that you toss those bulky boots in the nearest trash can).

7. He had his first kiss when he was 12-years-old.

(Hmmmm, I guess that I'm out of the running...I can't imagine living a MN winter without my Uggs! I gotta have them.)

Jack's Mannequin Video released

www.stepheniemeyer.com has the new Jack's Mannequin video that Stephenie Meyer wrote the treatment for - pretty awesome!

Yummy

Perez posted this yummy pic of our beloved Spunkie.

um. is anyone still watching True Blood?

It ended on kind of a weird note last night, don't you think?

That show is like a train wreck. It kind of sucks, but I can't look away!

Anyway, if you are watching it, what do you think of the show, now that you've gotten a chance to see a few epis?

Question of the Day (Weekend Edition)

Have you ever been drawn to something the way that Bella was drawn to Edward? I don't necessarily mean anything romantic; just something you felt as though you absolutely needed to know more about. Perhaps it has something more to do with a passion, a cause, a mystery, etc? Besides your Twilight obsession, of course! ;-)

Sneak Peek at Stephenie Meyer's Video for Jack's Mannequin's "The Resolution"

Check it out here.

Taylor Lautner Pic of the Day

This is the promotion photo for his new show (airs October 13). I've been trying to find a clip of the show with Taylor in it - so far, no luck!

Thoughts of HP

It's also been ten years since Harry Potter came into our lives! MTV recently gathered some quotes about that, here are the two I think we care about!

Kellan Lutz: "I love 'Harry Potter.' I actually wanted 'Harry Potter' as competition for 'Twilight,' because you'd be seeing the wizard side of fantasy and then jumping into the vampire life. Everyone I talk to is so obsessed with it. I always wished I had powers. I always wished I had a stick and a broom! It's a great story. It's so well-written. I think 'Harry Potter' hit everything. It set the precedent, that peak of Mount Everest, and we all want to climb that mountain. I just wish there were as many books to make movies of in 'Twilight' as there are in 'Harry Potter.' "

Robert Pattinson: "Does it make me a traitor? 'Harry Potter' was what made me become an actor. I credit 'Harry Potter' with everything else that's come since for me. I didn't know what I was doing before that. I hadn't read the books before doing the movie, so at first I read it just as an acting exercise. But I really enjoyed it! But I think Edward would kick Cedric's ass, to be
honest."

More from Mike Dexter...

Wow, does time fly by! It has been ten years since Can't Hardly Wait graced the big screen and some of the SVCers hearts! Check out this article with Carlisle/Mike Dexter/Peter.

"I did the commentary for the new DVD and it really holds up. The thing that was most interesting to me is that I didn't realize how many actors are in the film, just playing small roles - even in the background. I didn't know that Selma Blair was in the movie and I have scenes with her!"

New and different movie pic!

Way to Go!

Jes for keeping this site alive! You're a posting machine!

(This is my first post in like, a month)

Question of the Day

Apparently some of the pics out there of Rob stumbling out of the clubs has gotten some people all up in arms. The Movie Fanatic website has recently posted this article about Rob and his Fandom.

My question today is this:

What type of fan are you? Do you care about your favorite actors personal life? Does that play a role in how much you like that actor? Why or why not?

Robert Pattinson Video of the Day

I found this on youtube and thought it was kinda funny!

Untamed: A House of Night Novel

Untamed: A House of Night comes out today! I know Jes already bought it. Who else is getting it? I'm trying to decide if I should wait until someone is finished to read it. Can I wait that long?

Vampilla Ice...

Some Twilight fans came up with this brilliant idea to rewrite the Ice Ice Baby Tune... we really should have thought of this one!

Vampilla Ice (you can see a video of this song performed here)

All right stop, collaborate and listen
Bella’s back with a brand new vision
Edward, grabbed a hold of her tightly
bit like a vamp and now they’re up nightly
will they ever stop
a’hell no
step in the sun, and they’ll glow
to the extreme she locks her mind from the vandals
running through trees, now she’s gonna dazzle
vamps hit the ball and it booms
Jasper said, “I don't know they have brooms”
sexy, when he plays her his melody
sometimes you gotta be down with a felony
love it or leave it
you better stay away
down at first beach the wolves don't play
if it was a Cullen, Yo you’d know it
check out their eyes
golden color will show it

Ice Ice baby
Her skin is ice ice baby (x3)

Now that bellas a Cullen
with the venom kicked in, now the powers are rollin’
quick to the point, Emmett's strength she wastin’
eatin’ mountain lion like a pound of bacon
Now then, take you back to the first
Edward smelled Bella and he got a crazy thirst,
but he fought that, always rubbin’ his temples
mind over matter even though it wasn't simple
Rollin’ in his shiny volvo,
with the tinted windows so his skin don't glow
The weddings on stand by
Bellas ready to die
there's a lil’ somethin’ that she wanted to try
Kept on, pursuing no she wont stop
He said they’d try, but if he needed they would stop
The deal was made Yo
so we continue to, say I do, now the honeymoon
the weather was hot so she wouldn't be freezing
waves in the water, even though we didn't see any
jealous, cuz you know it was divine
stayed on the page cuz its about time
wakin’ with feathers in her hair
to the next room, bed and pillows beware
Edward said no more deal
bella was fine her bruises would heal
in the mornin’
bella was a hot mess
guess what
Edward is an Incubus

Thought I'd share...

One of my eighth grade students is as obsessed as newbies come. She's been BITTEN. She read my copy of Twilight on the first day of school, and proceeded to read one per day after that until she finished. Her parents made her stop drawing an Edward tattoo on her arm, so she now wears an Edward armband she made EVERY DAY to school and proceeds to talk about him throughout every class period - any way she can. (i.e.: journal entries: the question today was "If a genie could grant you one wish, what would it be?" Her answer: "I'd make Edward real." This is typical of everyday responses from her. The class makes fun of her, she just swoons.) She leans against the READ poster of Rob Pattinson and Kristin Stewart on my door on her way into class every day and sighs.

Anyway, it's refreshing to be around someone so newly in love. I love her armband. I should really try to get a picture of it and post it here...but I don't know if I'd be violating some weird student rule (I would just get her arm, not her face...) or if she'd totally freak out if she found this site. Hmm...

Just thought I'd share! Movie comes out two months from YESTERDAY!!! YAY!

Behold! The Edward Action Figure!

This is a picture of the proto-type. What'dya think? Will you buy one? (It looks more like a doll to me).

This comes to us courtesy of Twilight Series Theories website. I LOVE their podcast by the way! If you haven't checked out any of the Twilight themed podcasts out their this is the one to check out!

What I'm Reading

"The Summoning" by Kelley Armstrong.
Exerpt from Back Cover:
Chloe Saunders used to have a relatively normal life. But now she finds herself in some really strange situations because: *she suddenly starts seeing dead people. *she gets locked up in a group home for unstable teens. * the group home isn't what it seems...

I really liked this book, but in a way I felt like it was a cop-out, because the author is making it a trilogy, yet the book just ended on a cliff-hanger, and it felt like the story was only half-told. We were just starting to get to know everyone and figure out what was going on, and root for romance and all that. Still, I will read the sequel. It was fun.
--
"Guilty Pleasures (Anita Blake Vampire Hunter, Book 1") by Laurell K. Hamilton

Anita is an "animator," meaning that her job is to raise zombies (like to find out who they wanted in their will, or who killed them, etc.) But she also works with the police to track supernatural killers, and ends up fighting a lot of vampires and gets into a lot of dangerous messes. It wasn't the best book I've ever read, but it was definitely entertaining, and I've already started the sequel: "The Laughing Corpse."

Amazon.com Review
Anita Blake may be small and young, but vampires call her the Executioner. Anita is a necromancer and vampire hunter in a time when vampires are protected by law--as long as they don't get too nasty. Now someone's killing innocent vampires and Anita agrees--with a bit of vampiric arm-twisting--to help figure out who and why.

Trust is a luxury Anita can't afford when her allies aren't human. The city's most powerful vampire, Nikolaos, is 1,000 years old and looks like a 10-year-old girl. The second most powerful vampire, Jean-Claude, is interested in more than just Anita's professional talents, but the feisty necromancer isn't playing along--yet. This popular series has a wild energy and humor, and some very appealing characters--both dead and alive.

Field of Blood by Eric Wilson (Jerusalem's Undead Trilogy)

I picked this one up because it just seemed really interesting, but I haven't started it yet (beyond reading the first chapter at the bookstore). Here is what the back says:

The Jerusalem's Undead Trilogy takes readers on a riveting jopurney, as imaginative fiction mels with biblical and archaeological history.

from Amazon:
The suicide of Judas Iscariot in 30 A.D. left his blood seeping into the soil of the Field of Blood, in Aramaic the Akeldama. When this same field is disturbed by work crews outside Jerusalem in 1989, a clan of supernatural Collectors is released from the ancient burial chambers. Infused with Judas's enmity, they seek to corrupt and destroy.

Gina Lazarescu has always felt like she didn't quite belong. But a bizarre accident with a delivery van leaves her questioning if the differences aren't more significant than she realized. When a man she met as a young girl in Romania reappears with a fantastic tale of immortality, Gina must decide whether to believe or to ignore what she's seeing.

Regardless of what she decides, she's headed for an unavoidable collision with the Akeldama.

And finally, Corinne reminded me that Untamed: A House of Night Novel comes out tomorrow. Yay!

More Soundtrack News...

"He's writing a crucial song for Twilight, the movie adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's mega-selling young-adult vampire saga, due on November 21. The track is tentatively titled "Going All The Way (Into the Twilight)"

Who is this referring to? Check the short article from the New York Magazine HERE!

Robert Pattinson Pic of the Day

hmmm...?

Rob has an interview in the October issue of Interview Magazine. (James Franco is on the cover.)

Question of the Day (Weekend Edition)

This week we've been told that the band Paramore has signed on to pen and record two new songs for the soundtrack. The first of the two songs from Paramore is called Decode and the leader singer has this to say: "I chose the title 'Decode' because the song is about the building tension, awkwardness, anger and confusion between Bella and Edward," she said. "Bella is the only mind Edward can't read, and I feel like that's a big part of the first book and one of the obstacles for them to overcome. It's one added tension that makes the story even better."

So, my question this weekend is this:
What band/musician would you like to see/hear on the soundtrack with an original new song? Who do you think would do a really great job writing/performing a Twilight-inspired song?

PS: The film's soundtrack hits stores on November 4!

SM's Book Recommendation

Stephenie posted a book recommendation on her site: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. It sounds awesome!

Here's the Amazon synopsis:

Katniss is a 16-year-old girl living with her mother and younger sister in the poorest district of Panem, the remains of what used be the United States. Long ago the districts waged war on the Capitol and were defeated. As part of the surrender terms, each district agreed to send one boy and one girl to appear in an annual televised event called, "The Hunger Games." The terrain, rules, and level of audience participation may change but one thing is constant: kill or be killed. When Kat's sister is chosen by lottery, Kat steps up to go in her place.

Kind of reminds me of Shirley Jackson's short story "The Lottery." Ever read that? Anyway, I'll probably pick this one up soon.

Today was a great day.

I just went and saw the new Woody Allen movie, VickyChristinaBarcelona, with a friend, and..... I FINALLY saw the Twilight teaser trailer (#1) on the big screen. I was a bit surprised at how happy and giddy it made me seeing it - definitely better seeing it at the theater than on my computer!

For Funsies

So Ryah and I were together on Saturday night playing one of my favorite video games Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition. I convinced Ryah to make a car and along the creative process, she stumbled on the perfect concept. A Jacob car. Here are the results. We thought it was hilarious.

So....

This isn't quite Twilight news, but -

I am trying to see if we can get SVC invited to the Twilight Premiere in LA. I sent Perez Hilton an e-mail asking for some help/ideas on how to make this happen. I haven't heard back, but I saw this clip on his site of him on Martha today. He gives out tips on blogging successfully and I thought tip #3 was really interesting. Maybe if we bug him enough he will see that we are only FOLLOWING his own advice?

www.perezhilton.com

The Spider Monkey clip: fun to watch again!

The Origin of Spider Monkey:

I thought this was interesting from the interview that MTV did with the screen writer of Twilight, Melissa Rosenberg. Now, I have to say that when I first heard the line uttered, it made me cringe...am I the only one? Maybe it will be better in the context of the movie. I am, however, not surprised that Robert came up with it!

Rosenberg: Well, I can tell you this: "Spider monkey," I believe, comes from Rob Pattinson. I didn't actually write "spider monkey."

MTV: Really? Because the fans already love that line in the clips we've seen when Edward tells Bella, "You better hold on tight, spider monkey!"

Rosenberg: That was an improv.

MTV: So is that one of the things where a screenwriter sees the movie and says, "Sweet improv!" Or do you go, "He ruined my script! 'Spider monkey' is not accurate!"
Rosenberg: [Laughs.] Well, what I should say is, "I came up with spider monkey on my own. I wrote that."

MTV: .Someday that could be the new "This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship" — or something like that.

Rosenberg: Exactly.

ME: REALLY?? WILL IT REALLY BE THAT?

Question of the Day

Over at babynames.com they've got a special list for mom-to-bes who are also Twilight fans, a whole listing of the names that appear in the books and who the characters are. Now we've got some SVC'ers who are expecting, and though I don't think any of them are naming their children after any of the characters, I am going to ask this question today:

Would you/will you name any of your unborn/future children after one of the characters? (Why or why not?)

EW take two!

I just found this little blurb from the site Robert Pattinson Online:

After speaking with Rob’s management yesterday, we are able to confirm that Rob has shot another Entertainment Weekly cover. This time he will be alone and they assure me it will be a better photo!

This is great news! I hope they do get it right!

Also there are rumors going around that a third trailer will be coming out sometime in October:

Over at camp Twilight, the vampire drama based on Stephenie Meyer’s novel, we’ve been informed a proper trailer is due in mid-October. When we pressed for more details on the possible film it will be attached to, our informant clammed up.

If you missed Ellen today!

Nothing much new that we didn't already know, but Ellen is a funny interviewer.

Question of the Day

IMDB has changed the status of Twilight to completed. After all of our snooping and stalking, do you think the movie will be better than the book? Worse? The same?

Forks TV

Check out this little news clip about the people flocking to Forks recently. The best is the clip of the high school boy talking with dip in his mouth. It does make me want to go sometimes with you gals!

TwiCon

Check out this site for TwiCon 2009- There's a count down clock set for Oct 3rd... I bet that will be the big reveal for when the Convention will be and where! I think that SVC needs to make this a priority! (The Office tv show had one in Scranton last year and it looked like a total blast!) This could be really a great time.

Question of the Day

I have no doubt that you all are fabulous, sexy people who don't need pick up lines, but...

Let's hear your cheesiest, corniest, most god-awful pick up lines for Edward, Jacob, Jasper, etc.! I need a good laugh on a Monday.

Check out this short article featuring Rupert Grint (aka Ron Weasley of Harry Potter). I wonder what the bet was about exactly...?

Lucky you, Corinne, you subscribe! The Twilight cast will be featured in the October issue of the magazine. (I think Nikki Reed is definitely better as a brunette.)

Rob & Taylor Interview

This is one of the first interviews I've seen these two do together. It's cute and funny - not your typical lame questions. I think the two really are much like their two characters; it's interesting to compare the two as they interview- Taylor is animated and excitable, while Rob is low key and humble (very Jacob and Edward if you ask me!).

Question of the Day (Weekend Edition)

Today is Bella's birthday! So, my question is this: if you were to buy Bella a birthday gift, what would it be?

Twilight Twins

Maybe you already saw this on Twilight Guy's site, but WOW - a couple with the last name Hale actually named their twins Jasper and Rosalie. So funny.

They are five months old, so it's not new news, but somehow I missed this...

Just for you Z-Z

Our Z-Z has been wondering about the rating that Twilight will get, and I have found it for her. It's been rated PG-13. Check it out here
It's the third movie down on the list (there was a movie in the 90s named Twilight as well).

Question of the Day

Let's play a name game!
Often celeb couples get little nicknames such as, Tomkat and Bennifer. So my question today is really a challenge: Who can come up with the best nickname for one of our Twilight couples?

Trueblood

HBO premiered the first episode tonight. What did you think?

Amazon makes a mistake?

The Lex caught this first- But Amazon has put up a listing for the Soundtrack to Twilight... the problem? They have one of SM's playlists from her website as the track list. We all know that the music in the movie is going to be fresh and new to us all. Did someone pull one over on Amazon?

The good news? They have my bday, Oct 28th as the date for the soundtrack to come out- hope thats true!

Rob Quote of the Day

Looks like the hunky guys from Twilight are gracing the pages of Cosmo Girl this month. Here's a little sample of their interview banter- Rob graces us once again with thoughts that I can only believe would come from his mind.

Q: Are you at all similar to your characters?

Kellan: Rob is definitely Edward. He's so complicated, so poetic... I mean, you cannot help but like this guy! I'd say I'm definitely the protector type. I have six brothers and one sister, and I got beaten up a lot because I was in the middle. But then I learned to defend myself.

Rob: Yeah, Kellan protects me all the time. It's like having a globe around me. Really, he's like a globe of protection!

This pic from the mag comes from lion_lamb website. I just may need to run out a get this mag for it.

Question of the Day

What are some of your favorite Midnight Sun quotes?

Tuesday, September 2, 2008

Edward Has Totally Visited The SVC Site

Google Analytics doesn't lie.

The subtext of Twilight became humourous

having read midnight sun.

I'm re-reading Twilight, and its interesting blending what I read with what I remember of Edward's version, and I just wanted to share one eensy piece.

Page 247 of Twilight:

"Alice, Bella --Bella, Alice," he introduced us, gesturing casually with his hand, a wry smile on his face.

"Hello, Bella." Her brilliant obsidian eyes were unreadable, but her smile was friendly. "It's nice to finally meet you."

Edward flashed a dark look at her.

ahahahahahahahhahahahaha

Question of the Day

Last night some of us SVCers were treated to yummy food and great company at Erins. We started to discuss Midnight Sun and I wanted to bring part of our conversation to the website. Some of us have our theories as to how Midnight Sun came to be leaked and by who. So, todays question is this:

What's your theories? Who leaked the chapters? Why were they leaked?

Who's missing from the movie?

Todays MTV Twilight Tuesday is all about Catherine Hardwicke.

Have you been wondering if any characters will be cut or added to the film? Well, Catherine has confirmed that indeed Lauren has been cut out of the script and that a group of un-named girls fills the role of the snobby girl, in the movie.

Welcome Home

Welcome home Corinne and Alison!

It's so fun to see posts from you ;)

I know I am not really supposed to say this here,

but it is safe to say that I have been really disappointed with breaking dawn.

I know, I know, I *actually* haven't read it. but I think that I have heard and read plenty of synopsis to get the gist. And, to be honest, I don't plan on reading it. Because regardless of what people think, I really love the trilogy, and I don't want to ruin that love.

I was so excited for Breaking Dawn to come out, and after it did, I kind of decided that I couldn't give a shit about Twilight. Lets just be honest. I was so disappointed in what had happened, and where the story went, that I couldn't really love the books or even participate on the site anymore. I have missed my friends and felt apart from this community, but to be honest, I felt worn out. Like I couldn't give any more.

And then I read Midnight Sun.

I know that I say I am a Jacob fan. And I am. But I also Lurve Edward in Twilight. I love the mystery. I love the developing romance. I love how coy and perfect he is. How carefully he must have planned every single sentence. And reading Midnight Sun renewed my love for twilight. Its like we said our vows or something. Cause maybe I still can't post all the time, but i am committed to the books once again. I love the way that SM portrays Edward. i love his personality, and the way he tells his story. I love how he makes Bella seem better than she is through his eyes. It has made a huge impact, and, orchestrated or not, I am glad that Midnight Sun was "leaked." It has brought me back, and for this, I am greatful. Thank you.

Ps. tonight I wore "cullen" makeup. It was awesome.

talk to you soon. xoxo
alison

Stephenie answers some questions.

What are your reactions to her answers to the FAQ's?

I guess she finally gives an answer to the pregnancy question with some detail. Is "—fluids closely related to seminal fluids still exist in male vampires, which carry genetic information and are capable of bonding with a human ovum" a better explanation for you?
