Insert "Awkward" Here!...and the NM trailer!!!

My main three thoughts on tonights MTV Awards-

1.Did she really just "drop/fling" her award accross the stage? Oh KS! You don't disappoint us in your incredible awkwardness each chance you get. I do however appreciate you giving the love to Stephenie; it was very considerate of you.

2. HOLY EFFING CRAP! I was completely surprised by the New Moon clip. At first I thought, "well it's just like Twilight- with better lighting...oh there's Laurent- it's getting better...ah! Jacob- WHA!?!- DID I JUST SEE THAT!!!!!!"

3. Oh Rob, sigh. loves.

Steampunk

I found a jewelry-designer on Etsy that I love: mysticpieces. She calls her style Steampunk. I knew I had heard it before but couldn't quite remember where. After googling a bit -- DING -- it occurred to me...

Steampunk is one of the things that inspired Cassandra Clare for her new set of books, The Infernal Devices. Check out the FAQ on her site to read more.

This got me really, over-the-wall excited for the books. A year and a half until the first one? Ugh, that's torture.

ETA: Also adore Bionic Unicorn.

Twilight by Proxy?

I did my best stalking Taylor and Kristen in Vancouver (I would have reacted totally
opposite depending on who I found), but alas I did not see either. However, I did scope out where they have been.

Here is where the New Moon cast had a wrap party (The Blue Water Cafe + Raw Bar)

And here is where our lovely Rob spent his birthday (The Glowbal Grill and Satay Bar ). I tried to picture him there hitting on the waitress or taking a shot of something strong.

New Moon Pics!

Two more pictures on Perez. Check it. Eeeeiiiiii!

I'm looking forward to reading this book:

Mr. Alison picked it up at the library yesterday and it looks so awesome I had to share it with you! Now, I've never read pride and Prejudice, nor have I seen the movies (although I've read a lot of Brit Chick Lit, so I am well aware of Mr. Darcy and all that). I guess I always assumed that Jane Austen was too stuffy for me. So this is a way to read her actual text but get some zombies in as well! Score!

Here is the product description from amazon.com
"It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains." So begins Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, an expanded edition of the beloved Jane Austen novel featuring all-new scenes of bone-crunching zombie mayhem. As our story opens, a mysterious plague has fallen upon the quiet English village of Meryton—and the dead are returning to life! Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she's soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr. Darcy. What ensues is a delightful comedy of manners with plenty of civilized sparring between the two young lovers—and even more violent sparring on the blood-soaked battlefield as Elizabeth wages war against hordes of flesh-eating undead. Can she vanquish the spawn of Satan? And overcome the social prejudices of the class-conscious landed gentry? Complete with romance, heartbreak, swordfights, cannibalism, and thousands of rotting corpses, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies transforms a masterpiece of world literature into something you'd actually want to read.

So I haven't started it yet, but I am looking forward to it. I'll let you know what I think ;)

Karen Newton

This is particularly for Kari. I found Karen's house. It was the nicest house in Forks by a landslide. If you look real closely at the last picture, there is an awesome wooden statue of some mountain man in her front yard. It just fit so well with her Outfitter store lifestyle (maybe besides Mike, he's the only man in her life).

We spent the night with Carlisle

because we're watching CAN'T HARDLY WAIT!!!!!! <3 Mike Dexter. And Ethan Embry. And Seth Green.

Alison, Ryah and Jes are at my house hanging out, and we're loving it. 92%, yo!!

Anyway, I thought with four SVCers together, I should blog. That, and Jes and I have been marveling at IMDB after discovering the crazy number of celebrities who make small appearances in the movie. And trying to determine if James Marsden is in the movie.

Kari, hope you had fun at Benihana, and we all know Corinne's having a great time! ;-)

Vampire Diaries Promos!!

I've read the first book, wasn't too thrilled by it. However I think the show will be kinda fun!

La Push it!

Here is one of my favorite photo shoots of the Twilight tour (probably why there are so many). La Push! It was an interesting mix of beauty and poverty.

The Rec Center for the tribe

A view of the homes from the beach

It was seriously a perfect "Twilight" atmosphere. It was literally sunny everywhere else but here

This house is what I imagined Jacob's to be. Note the big red barn.

Infernal Devices Website

Cassandra Clare (Author of City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass) just put up a website dedicated to her new series, the Infernal Devices. Check it out here

Port Angeles

Bella and Edward's first date spot. It looked like a cute restaurant. I actually just barely got this shot before leaving the city so didn't have the fortune to eat there.

Instead we ate here:
(Apparently we tapped into the Mexican vibe of the city.)

Some other random, non-book related photos include a view from the Port Angeles Pier and the visitors information center.

I also know this has nothing to do with Twilight, but once I saw the name, I had to take a pic....

Question of the Day

I just read on Perez Hilton that Life & Style Mag is giving a few spoilers, it was nothing that we haven't already heard except this:

"Additionally, in the book Edward says he will turn Bella into a vampire only if they marry. In the movie, however, he offers a different ultimatum."

So my question is this:
Do you think this is true? What would a different ultimatum be? Do you think removing the marriage aspect will change the heart of the story?

A quick one for Carlisle.

I posted this last night (or at least I thought I did), but it never showed up. Anyway, here is a little pic of the little hospital. I have to say that I found it to be tiny. It was one level with emergency and out patient services all together. It was clear to me how everyone would consider Carlisle a god in this community.

Rob Quote of the Day

"I don't even remember where I left my car (in Los Angeles). It's probably been towed away by now. that's my only immovable possession and now I don't know where it is! (Laughs.) It was important to me because it was the first car I ever bought. Made me feel like a man, buying a car."
-Rob, when asked about having a place to call home, from an Interview with The Hollywood Reporter. Check out the full interview HERE

Forks High School

Here's a view of the high school.

I'm learning on this trip that Forks is quite a small place. There is not a lot to see and there aren't a lot of what I would classify as picture opportunities on the "Twilight Tour." I also have a very hard time being a "tourist". I don't do well standing out, and it feels like of like I am exploiting the real Forks residents (although they don't seem to care about the exploitation--it gets them tons of business. One store wanted to charge me $15 for a key chain... Sorry, mini rant). However, I DO want to assure you that I have in my possession many of the photos that I wanted to get. I am, though, trying to prolong the magic for the rest of you and I'm not going to post my pictures all at once. I hope to include a daily post with a picture for the next week for your enjoyment.

FORKS!!!!!!

So after a long an glorious day of sight seeing in the Olympic Peninsula, we have arrived in Forks. And look what I found!

Bella's Truck

The SVC tagging along in the front seat...

Wake By Lisa McMann

I borrowed this book from Kari last night and figured I might as well review it. The story, basically, is about a girl named Janie who get sucked into the dreams of people around her. The arc is about her learning to deal with that, as well as work on the relationships she has in real life.

I stole this review from amazon.com courtesy of Teens Read Too:
Dreams can usually be categorized as our source of entertainment while we are sleeping. Although we sometimes may not remember them, they often take us on a journey that we may (or may not) want to happen. For Janie Hannagan, though, dreams are her worst nightmares.

Not like any other normal teenage girl, Janie witnesses the dreams that anyone within close proximity is dreaming. Of course, she doesn't really want this to happen, but it has been going on ever since she was eight. Janie is able to see the ordinary dreams, from falling to drowning to going to work without wearing any pants. Along with that, she is able to see people's secrets and what they desire the most.

There is nothing Janie can do about this but to just keep the knowledge to herself. That all changes when Cable, the guy who everyone thought was a pothead and a dealer, enters her life as she enters his dreams. Half the time, the dreams are somewhat sweet and romantic, but then other times she witnesses the nightmares that have been haunting him.

As Janie tries to sort out not only his dreams but her own feelings for Cable, she learns that the only way to survive her reactions towards other people's dreams is to control them -- and to help the people complete the tasks that they so desperately want to accomplish.

So here is what I say about this book: suuuuper easy read. I think it took me an hour and a half or so. And I have to say, the writing style is entirely devoid of any art. Its very straightforward, almost reads like someone was jotting down ideas and didn't feel like filling them back in. example: When she gets home, Janie walks past her mother, who is on the couch watching Guiding Light and drinking from a clear glass bottle. Janie washes her stinging hands carefully, dries them, and sits down next to her mother, hoping she'll notice. Hoping she'll say something. But Janie's mother is asleep now.

Still, the book had a very interesting and compelling storyline, which was why I continued to read it. And the exerpt from the next book in the series, FADE, makes it seem like this series is going to take a more interesting turn. I do recommend this book, although since its such an easy read, maybe you should just get it from the library. Or borrow it from kari ;)

The journey begins

I've landed in Seattle and am on my way to Olympia. Then the trek begins to Forks and Vancouver. I will be posting some photos, trying to entice Edward and maybe even attempt to stalk the shooting set of the New Moon movie. I'll keep you posted. Here's the view
from my plane window (I know it's not Twilight related, but it was pretty).

SVC night of fun and mourning.

First, the bad news. Corinne is probably landing now (or soon) in Seattle. Without us. A moment of silence, please.

...

Enough mourning. The remaining SVCers have been hanging out at my house tonight, enjoying the MN Twins (Ryah and Erin, anyway), pizza, shots of Patron, margaritas, fake wine, and Pepsi. And the Justin Timberlake SNL. "I can be the syrup, she can be my waffle..."

Anyway...we've decided to turn two more people into vampires.

Welcome to the coven, Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine:

Oh, so beautiful. They can beam me up anytime...

Question of the Day

I saw this pic, of someone with a Rob signature tattoo, on another Twilight related site:

Which got me thinking:
If you were to get a Twilight related tattoo, what would you get and why?
this is purely hypothetical! have some fun with it ;)

Evermore by Alyson Noel

So I read half of this book in the bookstore today and decided to make a post about it now because who knows when I will get to read the other half (I didn't buy it and its on like mega-hold at the library). Annnyway, its a fairly easy read at about 300 pages. And verry similar to Twilight. Its like Twilight with one very major plot twist. And sofar, I am enjoying it, even though it is so similar. I think this is because the characters are actually developed, which is something SM seems to have trouble with. But by pg. 150, you can sense that drama is coming, but it definitely hasn't come yet. I will find a synopsis from amazon for you.

ok. this is actually from B&N and I only took a tiny tidbit because the other reviews seemed to give stuff away (things I didn't even know yet!)

Since a horrible accident claimed the lives of her family, sixteen-year-old Ever can see auras, hear people’s thoughts, and know a person’s life story by touch. Going out of her way to shield herself from human contact to suppress her abilities has branded her as a freak at her new high school—but everything changes when she meets Damen Auguste…

Question of the Day

I've been thinking about New Moon lately- i tried to reread it a few weeks ago, but had to put it down again. Not because i don't like it, but because I got emmotional again with it! It's just ridiculous how i react to that book...

Anyways, I am happy to say that I am really looking forward to seeing Taylor Lautner and his full interpretation of Jacob in New Moon. So, this is my question (can you believe I am asking a Jacob question?):

What is your favorite personality trait that Jacob embodies? Do you think Taylor will bring this into the character or not?

Pic of the day

this isn't some fancy mag pic- but I really like how he looks in this pic.
