New Vamp Lit and catching the Twilight bug again!

Hello all, its been awhile since I've posted, I think I've been in a vamp slump. But, I am happy to say that I've found a new Vamp series to read this week, and I am tearing through them something fearce. (I don't think Alison has posted about them or read them) I'm reading the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward, (I know that they will not be for everyone) they are found in the romance section, and they are racey! they've got me back in the Vamp mode again!
They have an interesting take on the Vampire idea, and the lovin' is off the charts. Kari- I am planning to pass them onto you very soon ;)

I'm also feeling the Twilight bug comming back to me. Friday I was standing in the check-out at Target and I noticed the lady behind me was buying New Moon- so I asked her if she was reading them (she may have been buying it for a daughter or something) and she in fact was buying it for herself. I got this huge rush as I started to talk to her about Twilight and how she liked it and how it was that she had started to read the series. It was so great to talk to someone new about the books again!

17 enjoyed the bouquet.:

Yep Jes, I too got stuck on the Ward series! It's racey...but hey that's ok!! How far in are you!? I loved them all and I hope that she continues to write more in the series! I totally want to know what happens with the boy! (I can't remember his name right now...:( ) I've started that Trueblood series! Don't know if I like it as well as Twilight or the Ward series...guess we'll see!

Yes! more books to read!
I'm going to check this series out on Amazon right now. Thanks!

Oh Jes! Bring it on, I love the racy ones.

heatheryruth, what book are you on? I read the first one from the Trueblood series. I'd totally read more, I just kinda forgot. And then I had a baby.

i was condidering these when i lived in illinois but they didn't have them at the library and i was too embarrassed to get them at the bookstore.

haha @ too embarassed. That is why Amazon.com is my friend :)

Kari said...

Wait, are they really that smutty?

...going to check Amazon.

alison said...

I've heard theyre pretty racy. And they are sold in the romance section.

which is funny. I have no problem with chilling in the YA section, or Sci-Fi, but romance? embarrassing.

If you're like me, I don't want anyone to think I'm missing out on the romance in real life.

That's why I yell, "I'm here for the smut!!!" whenever I visit the romance section ;)

Talking about Twilight with others is always fun! :)

Bring the smut!! I'll have to read those. I was a bit embarrassed to recommend Outlander at first, but it's too good of smut not to share. Plus, you get to talk in a Scottish brogue for days on end.

I was actually embaresses to but them, but I needed something to read- so I asked for gift receipts! That way I feel like im buying them for someone else, and so to may the person ringing me up!
Im on the third book!

Hilarious, Jes! Awesome. I was going to use the library, but I have no excuses there...at least there's self checkout?

Ginger @ GReads! said...

Omg thats too funny... I did the gift receipt thing once, too! hahaha

Yeah...gotta love the Vamp smut! they are FAIRLY graphic...but not like sick! Typical "harlaquin" with the vamp twist! I loved them! they storyline is good...even without the "smut"!

Kari I'm only on the first book in the Sookie Stackhouse series! I just haven't gotten "pulled" in like with the Ward and Twilight series!

Jes said...

I've all the stackhouses too- waiting for the next one. I've read her other series too- I really liked the series with "grave" in the titles, the others not so much.
