Question of the Day

As I was trolling the Twilight blogosphere, I came upon an interesting question. What is the best age to become a vampire? Bella is obsessed with being turned before she's "too old" (ha). She's convinced 19 is the age to do it. What about you? What age would you like to be turned, or have been turned into a vampire.

14 enjoyed the bouquet.:

well, does becoming a vampire make you skinny and perfect? because if it did, I would turn now, because I would like to look like an adult. Unless I wanted to be a creepy child vampire...
But if not, I guess I would go for age 20, so I could be a cute and skinny vamp. yes, yes, I know. I'm vain.

I am in total agreement with Alison. Although I'd prefer my 18-year-old body. But, like her, if it makes you skinny and perfect, I think late 20s/early 30s is the way to go...

I'm with everyone else -- body of a 18 year old, mind of a 32 year old. If I absolutely had to pick one, I'd pick early 30s.

Since I have little life experience and don't know what it's like to be out of my teen years I'd have to go with somewhere between 16-20.

I'm not really sure. I do have this firend, though, who swears she would only want to become a vampire at age 20.

Kari: What you said - 18 yr old body, 32 yr old mind - made me think of the werewolves, 'cause they have, it like, opposite. I'm rereading Eclipse, and Jacob was saying how they have growth spurts so they're physically like twenty-something. So it's the body of a 25 year old with a seventeen year old mind.
Just thought I'd throw that in.

I am hoping that becoming a vampire makes you as beautiful (and thin) as you possibly can be. If I assume that, I'm not sure I want to be 18. I think my 22-25 year-old self would be the best. Past all the awkwardness of the late teens and maybe got all my irresponsible decisions out of the way and ready to do something different. Plus I'd look like an adult. I don't think I'd like to look like a teenager for the rest of my life when I'm like 105 on the inside...

yay corinne! I am applauding you for posting a question, and a great question it is ;)

I would say that I definately want to be gloriously beautiful (wether that is skinny, curvy, whatev).
but I agree with the thought that I would not want to look any younger than late twenties. I wouldn't want the problem of having to explain why I wasn't aging (and you age alot from 17-27)So... I would say that edward can turn me any time from now at 29 till i'm 34ish.

I agree with all of yall. I would have to say 21 which I am now because it's pretty awesome. I could go up to around 25 because like Corinne said, I don't want to look too young for my entire life! I may not be super skinny or beautiful like a vampire, but being 21 is fun! And it would be awesome to not age as I have a fear of being too old haha

this seems like a pretty obvious question to ask because as i was reading i always thought when i would want to turn!! good idea :)

I would say anytime between 25 until now. I would have hated being turned at 18, I was still in my awkward looks stage.

Well, I'm torn about this. It really depends on where you want your life stuck at. Do you mind repeating high school/college decade after decade and never looking old enough to get a "real job?" Yet, you never have the more outward adult responsibilities.

Or do you prefer never being young enough to experience school--except maybe to pursue post-graduate studies...being positioned more to be able to have a job, but constantly having to change locations every few years due to your lack of aging (and you couldn't ever really establish a prominence in your field bc of your vampy secret)?

I think that the Cullens show us that you aren't "stuck" mentally at a certain age forever like your body is. Bella also shows us that...her mental capabilities expand when she becomes a vampire. Based upon that--and only being 25 myself--I would say that 20 would be great for me. If Emmett can get away with that age, so could I :)

What an AWESOME question!!

Hmm.. I definitely want to be out of my teen years. Who wants to be THAT forever?! yuck! I'd probably choose 25-30. That way I am old enough to be independent, but still young enough to enjoy crazy things.

And nice comment Jes.."when Edward turns me" haha!
