Question of the Day: The answer.

“It’s so hard to describe. It’s not like love at first sight, really. It’s more like…gravity moves. When you see her, suddenly it’s not the earth holding you here anymore. She does. And nothing matters more than her. And you would do anything for her, be anything for her…You become whatever she needs you to be, whether that’s a protector, or a lover, or a friend, or a brother.”
–Jacob Black.

I've been staring at the computer trying to think of a question of the day. This is part of the answer as to why I have switched to Team Jacob. This quote kills me...in a good way.

How can you not love him?

14 enjoyed the bouquet.:

Aww, you're right.

I'm in the middle of the fanfic Sacrifices and I can't believe I didn't think of the consequences of anyone being w/ him that isn't imprinted. I'm surprised Sam hasn't stepped in on the situation and convinced Jacob to be more aware of what would happen to the person he loves if she's not the one. Well, maybe he has or maybe Jacob did imprint! ahh! I can't wait to find out!

I DO love him. This is a fantastic and sincere quote. I guess your QOD is right at the end.

ok...I'm not saying I'm a Jacob hater! However I don't "love him" If that's the question today!

The way he handles things just drives me bonkers! as a person he's a good guy, honest and all that. However the way he tries to go about trying to gain Bella's affections is so immature! He uses silly tactics and manipulation! Edward, though on the side of maybe to over dramatic, is never anything but honest!

Then when Bella finally makes the decision after realizing her feelings for EVERYONE, when he doesn't get his way...he runs away? A normal person would just bow out gracefully and start to find a way to move on, instead he decides to shun everyone he knows and runs off!

These are the things that keep me from falling in "LOVE" with Jacob! He's just not my type of person. Besides the fact that he hasn't imprinted on Bella...he should know there is always that chance...and try to think of her and what would happen if that DID happen to him!

I have to disagree that Edward has been anything but honest. He told Bella that he didn't love her and that she would never see him again in New Moon. Then HE ran away when things went wrong.

And yes, Jacob leaving was immature, but he is 16, and maybe this is his way of moving on? We don't know what he's doing up there in Canadaland.

I really do love Jacob. I loooove him. It's just that I love Edward more...and I think that in his own vampire way, Edward has "imprinted" on Bella.

I agree with Jill about the fact that Jacob didn't imprint on Bella, which would have been very very bad for her had she opted for him instead of Edward (a la the fanfic Sacrifices). I think that's what it came down to for me; I think in all other respects Jacob would be "better" for Bella, but he'd probably end up leaving her someday. And wouldn't have a choice about it.

But I love him. I'm kinda with Corinne in Switzerland. Just edging toward the Edwardian side of Switzerland. ;-)

I have to say that it isn't about loving Jacob or not Loveing Jacob. It is about who should be with Bella. even though I don't think J&B to be together, doesn't mean I don't love the character of Jacob.

yes this quote is great, but- Jacob doesn't really live up to it. He doesn't settle for being "anything she needs him to be"- (which others have ponted out above)
In no way should he and Bella be together in a lover relationship. He can't commit to her because of the imprinting. (yes, he may never imprint...but if he does it would be devestating for Bella)

I also want to say that I do see Edwards faults. I really do. But I also believe that he and Bella are meant for each other.

I'm confused. Jacob can't live up to this quote because he hasn't imprinted yet, and this quote is him explaining what it's like to imprint.

This is all about loving Jacob. I do not want him and Bella to be together at all. It would be devasting for everyone if they were together and he did imprint.

I was just giving explaination as to why I have ventured to Team Jacob.

(now that I have the quote in its rightful context of Jacob talking about how an imprint affects its wolve. )

yes, jacob explains the idea of imprinting beautifully here in this quote.

I think we all get mixed up between the team J vs. team E stuff. In the Twilight world doesnt being a Team Jacob- mean that you want Bella to be with Jacob?

If so, I am deff Team E... but if being on teams means you just like the Character alot and want whats best for them than I am Team Switzerland also.

Ryah said...

Yeah, for me it's about which character I like better, though sometimes I think the whole "team" thing is a little lame.

I want Bella and Edward to be together. I really, really do.

thanks for the insight and quote ryah!

I think I'm with Jes. What a fun debate today! I also want the best for Jacob and don't think he's a "bad guy", I just want Bella and Edward to have a happy ending...I want the same for Jacob...I just don't think his H.E. is with Bella! I do want him to find someone though!

Mmmmm, I could talk about Jacob and Edward all day. And think about them, and look at them...

me too. I realized recently that I think about Twilight when I am stressing over things I shouldn't be- I just start to think about bell and edward and everything and I calm down!
