Quote of the Day

Carlisle: "I've seen vampire venom work miracles, but there are conditions that even venom cannot overcome."

12 enjoyed the bouquet.:

WHAT!?!?
Vampire venom is healing?? Only to vamps right? hmmmmmm...

Jes said...

This has me thinking... Obviously it works miracles, cause vamps heal quickly. Haven't we established that the only way a vamp can die is to be torn and burned??
This is gonna keep me up all night.

Woah! This quote is totally crazy. I've heard vampire venom hurts like hell. How will it work miracles? He has to be talking about another vampire.

Well the way I understood it, is as the Venom changes a person from Human to vamp....it heals all old and new wounds they have had...to make them "perfect"! I don't really know what it does to another VAMP though!

I hope someone isn't like, coming back from the dead! AAGGHH! I don't know what I'm gonna do! I probably won't even get to start reading BD until like Sunday or Monday! (The 2nd is my oldest Daughters Birthday!!) Maybe I'll just have to squeeze some reading in here and there! hehe!

What all are you guys planning for the big release?

When I read it, I immediately thought that a human was so badly mangled that even vampire venom couldn't heal them and turn them into a vamp. OMG! Is someone gonna die?!?

Kari said...

Ah, Ryah! You're right!

Hopefully it's not Karen Newton.

Ryah said...

Lol Kari. It would be a crime againtst high heeled, blonde highlighted fashion if Karen died.

Poor Mike.

I was up thinking about this for a while, and I came to the same idea as ryah, as in the vampire venom not being able to make the change in someone... what if it's Bella?? What if her body rejects the change?

Well, vampire venom, in most books, has healing properties, or strenghtening ones, at least. Well, not venom. usually blood. but still.

Edward and Rosalie are evidence of this; they didn't turn into sick and/or dying vampires. They are healed in the turning process before they become vamps. Sounds like SM is attributing that to venom.

Although I am not sure how to reconcile that with Bella having her hand bitten.

Erin said...

Huh...my first thought was to agree with you, Ryah, that the venom couldn't change someone who was too far gone (dead). My thoughts went to possibly a werewolf who might need saving...noooo...

But then, when I read what Alison said about Bella already being bitten...you know how vaccinations work...what if her initial bite was like a vaccination and now she's immune?? NOOOOO...

This quote, maybe more than any of the others, is freaking me out.

Good thing the book comes out Friday night!

I immediately thought of werewolves and one of them being injured but the vamp venom won't work or they refuse it and would rather die than be turned. The "conditions" would be either werewolf-ness or their refusal to be saved.

Erin, your theory scares me!! Friday night can't come fast enough.

I know, Maggie. I'm scared too. We can hope it's just SM's twisted sense of humor sending us into a tizzy.
