Question of the Day - Weekend Edition

I am still so, so, so excited for the Twilight movie. I saw Mamma Mia! with my sister the other night and when we saw the Twilight movie poster up on the wall, we both yelped and did a little dance.

Therefore, I am really excited for New Moon and Eclipse movies, too. And I can pretty much see how they'd do these movies, even though New Moon is a lot of inner monologue (I think they'd just have to expand Jacob's role a lot, which is fine by me!). I think the premise and plot still work, movie-wise.

However...even though I'm liking Breaking Dawn a lot more, I can't see it as a movie. Can you really picture a little toddler playing the part of Renesmee? Or Bella's "shield"? Or Kristen Stewart with a huge, swollen black belly, and Rob Pattinson biting it to get the baby out? *shudder* I just think that for as much trouble as I had with some of those images in my head, they just wouldn't work out on screen.

So, I'll get to the question of the weekend...do you think Breaking Dawn could be a movie? Why or why not? What would they do if they didn't include it?

12 enjoyed the bouquet.:

No, I think it would make for a really bad movie. It would be so awkward to watch.

The ending would be really anti-climactic with no fight. I appreciated the lack of violence, but I don't know how that would pan out in a movie. I really would love to see that scene in visuals though - snow on the ground and the "melody" of the Volturi and their guard floating in would be cool. Renesme would be too creepy. And I could never, never sit through 2 hours of hearing that name spoken outloud. They'd have to change it for the movie.

I wonder if they'll combine Eclipse and BD into one movie?

They would have to change the ending for sure. And would anyone want to touch Jacob imprinting on Nessie? I wouldn't.

It would be cool to see Bella as a vampire though. I want to see her jump, hunt and have some hot vampire sex. Yeehaw!

I think they would have to really edit it. some of it was kind of boring, and also not really appropriate on-screen for pg-13 or whatever.

But I think it would be awesome to see kristen's stomach get ripped open. but shes not gonna look this young forever, so...

my guess is that they would just end eclipse with a wedding or something like that.. you know, happily ever after.

also, I just want to put it out there that I still haven't read the books, and all of my bd comments are directly related to occupation: girl

Maybe they could somehow work into Eclipse a situation where BD happens without the baby incident, and they have to fight the Volturi oversomething else? And then they could put part of Eclipse into New Moon to balance it all, since New Moon will need more?

The movies could be called New Eclipse and Eclipsing Dawn? ;-) Or we could just stick with Twilight 2 and Twilight 3, like most other trilogies...

I agree w/ combining Eclipse and maybe the beginning of BD. I think it could end like the 2nd Star Wars movie in that seems more passionate and exciting when romantic characters marry or finally "do it" after they've almost been killed. They could skip the rest of BD and put some flash forwards from Alice in seeing Bella changed. If they did do BD I'd hope too that they'd make the Vulturi scene more suspensful. A movie that was better than the book? Wouldn't be tough to happen here. Sorry, I'm still crabby about the book and I'm not ready to be over it ..haha!

I think they should combine NM and Eclipse because I don't really want to have a movie that is just Bella sitting in a garage with Jacob fixing bikes. BD would have to have some major changes if I'm ever going to be aloud to watch it with my parents acatually knowing.

Does anyone know what Twilight is going to be rated? I would like to know because if I'm going to watch it in theaters i want to know if I need a parents permission.

Ya know...I'm really not sure! I did enjoy BD! I hope that if they do the other books as movies that they don't just totally write BD off! I feel there were things in it that are important to the story line! However at the same time I think so topics in the story would be a little "graphic" and not totally needed! (the drawn out pregnancy and birth) However I do feel if they make BD a movie they shouldn't edit characters out! I also think S.M. would have a say and not allow for them to just totally write Renesmee out and her whole storyline!

will I go see it....HELL YEAH!! I love ANYTHING Twilight related!!!

Good point, Heather - I didn't think about how SM would feel about a character being cut out. And I guess I'd want them to be true to the book, too...I just can't see how they'd portray Renesmee on screen. It would seem so "Chucky" to me! :-/ A half-vampire totally advanced little kid just scares me a little, no matter how beautiful she's supposed to be. I'm fine reading about it, but to see it would be harder, I think (the whole being-born-with-a-full-set-of-teeth thing just makes me cringe).

I'm interested to see how they work it out...

No surprise here, but I do not want to see a Breaking Dawn movie. Too creepy and I think too mature of themes for them to continue with pg-13.

And even thought New Moon is my fave book, I'm not sure that will make a good movie either. Too much angst and inner dialogue about feelings--but I would watch it and think that it could do well with a combo of Eclipse or something.

I was coerced into seeing Mamma Mia (the play), which ended up being great... as for the movie version, sounds fun, though it's awkward to think of ol' Pierce trying to sing, yeeesh
